"POV: You're getting married in The Shire and an unexpected guest crashes your wedding," the overlay text of the video read.
In the video, a group of four men dressed in jeans and black jackets were seen walking up to a wedding ceremony that was happening in front some of the iconic round Hobbithomes in Hobbiton.
One man in the front is seen hugging a photographer, before the people in the wedding started to gasp out loud when they realised who the man in question was.
The guests all turned around, while the bride and groom where in shock about how none other than Frodo Baggins, or Elijah Wood, had just crashed their wedding.
The photographer then ushers Elijah to go up to the bride and groom so that she can commemorate the unexpected moment forever with a photo. Elijah shakes hands with both the bride and groom before they all went to pose for the photo together under the floral arch while the guests cheered.
Before leaving, the wedding officiant made sure to get his own photo with the actor before he quickly ran away to let the wedding ceremony proceed.
The video quickly went viral, having been watched by over 16.7 million users in the first day, and viewers were just as baffled by the surprise as the bride and groom, while some joked he seemed to still be living in Hobbiton.
"'Unexpected' like it’s not his front lawn," one user commented, while another person said: "You’re making it harder to convince me he doesn’t live there."
A third person went on to say: "Unexpected? You’re at his house."
"That’s like getting married in a church and Jesus walks in," another person said.
Some people went on to argue that it wasn't Elijah Wood, but rather Billy Boyd, who played Pippin. However, the Hobbiton account soon shared the photos taken at the wedding, which confirmed that it was in fact Elijah who had crashed the wedding.
